Alarminder privacy policy

This policy applies to Alarminder on Android. The operator is MinosSoft.

Last updated: 2026-09-19

1. Overview

Alarminder keeps your data on your own device. The app requires no account and no sign-in, and the operator does not run any server or database that stores your personal information.

The app works without an internet connection. It does not contain advertising and it does not offer in-app purchases.

2. Information on your device

Schedules, cycle items, events and their completion history that you enter in the app.

App settings such as the display language, theme, time format, default alarm time and lead days.

Backup files that you export yourself, if you choose to create them.

This information stays in the app storage on your device and is never sent to the operator.

3. Permissions and why they are used

Notifications: to show the alarm in the status bar for the whole alarm period and to show the action buttons on it. Without this permission the alarm cannot appear.

Exact alarms: to fire an alarm at the minute you chose. Without it Android may delay the alarm.

Run at startup: to restore scheduled alarms after the device reboots. Without it the alarms booked before a reboot would not fire.

Ignore battery optimisation (optional): some devices stop background work for apps that have not been opened recently, which silently prevents alarms.

Vibration: to vibrate for the notification channels that have vibration switched on.

Full-screen alerts: only for schedules where you turn the lock-screen option on, so the alarm can show over the lock screen.

Run in the background: a daily job re-books the alarms for the next 60 days. For the few seconds it runs, Android's background-work library holds a wake lock and may run it as a short foreground service.

Network state: the Android background-work library declares this so it can tell whether the device is online. The app itself never asks for the internet permission, so it cannot open a connection of its own.

The app does not request access to contacts, location, camera, microphone or storage outside the files you pick yourself.

4. Storage and security

All content is stored locally on your device.

The app performs no network requests of its own, so no content is transmitted.

Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

5. Third-party services

The app does not use analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services.

Opening this help page launches your browser. What the browser does with that page is governed by the browser, not by the app.

6. Your choices and data deletion

Delete individual items in the app, or uninstall the app to remove everything.

Export a backup file at any time from the data settings, and import it on another device.

A backup file you export leaves the app; keeping it safe is up to you.

Turn notifications off in the system settings for the app. Alarms will no longer appear.

7. Children’s privacy

Alarminder is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country or region), and the operator does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact the operator and appropriate steps will be taken.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised last updated date.
